Charles Moseley Carr, DPh

Charles M. Carr, age 82, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.
He was born on August 10, 1939 in Gibson County to the late Finis Bryant Carr and Mattie Lou Moseley Carr. His grandparents were Walter Clarence Carr and Onie Morris Carr and James Thomas Moseley and Maude Ramsey Moseley.
Charles was a 1957 graduate of Peabody High School where he served as class president. After attending the University of Tennessee at Martin, he graduated in 1961 from UT College of Pharmacy and practiced for over fifty years. After owning and operating his pharmacy, Carr Drugs in Trenton, Tennessee, Charles worked for several other chain pharmacies. He was a past president of the 14th District Pharmacy Association. He served multiple terms as a Trenton Alderman and was actively involved in the Lions Club. Charles proudly served as a medic in the Tennessee Army National Guard. At the First United Methodist Church in Trenton, he was a past senior high youth director, Sunday school teacher and member of the choir where he sang bass. He and his wife, Donna, were actively involved in animal rescue transport. He also enjoyed golfing, quail hunting, singing in a barber shop quartet, researching genealogy, and riding and showing his Racking Horse, Dixie. His precious pets were Rose, Lily and Buttercup.
In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Moore Carr; and niece, Cynthia Carr Flannery and her husband James Winston Flannery.
He is survived by his wife of forty years, Donna Vance Hawkins Carr of Trenton, Tennessee; two sons, Jeffrey Charles Carr of Trenton, Tennessee and Kavin Grant Carr and his wife Sharon Thomas Carr of Dyersburg, Tennessee; two daughters, Carla Beth Carr Birmingham and her husband James Robert Teegarden of Enterprise, Alabama and Shannon Hawkins Ragusa and her husband Joseph Michael Ragusa of Zachary, Louisiana; and brother, Rev. Dr. Jerry Bryant Carr and his wife Dorothy Barham Carr of Brentwood, Tennessee.
Other survivors include five grandchildren, Vaden McKenna Birmingham of New York, New York, Grant Thomas Carr of Memphis, Tennessee, Grayson Everett Carr of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Sophia Grace Ragusa of Zachary, Louisiana, and Brady Michael Ragusa of Zachary, Louisiana; sister-in-law, Camille Corder Carr of Martin, Tennessee; two nephews, Mark Barham Carr, MD and his wife Joy Clark Carr of Nashville, Tennessee and Phillip Corder (Beau) Carr and his wife Emily Ellis Carr of Jackson, Tennessee; niece, Catherine Leigh Carr of Paris, Tennessee; and other loved great nieces and nephews.
A kind and compassionate man, Charles was a blood donor for many years and as a final gift, a tissue donor.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at First United Methodist Church in Trenton, Tennessee.
