Donna Marie Thomas

Mrs. Donna Marie Thomas age 81 of Milan, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. 

She was born October 1, 1942, in Lynn, Massachusetts to the late James Patrick Trainor and Irene Shirley Harkness Trainor. Mrs. Thomas worked for many years with the Milan Special School district in the cafeteria department. Mrs. Thomas was Catholic and deeply proud of her faith.

She was a strong person and a fighter if it was something she believed in. Mrs. Thomas was also kind hearted and was willing to help anyone needing assistance. If she had something and someone needed it, without hesitating, she would gladly give it to them. Mrs. Thomas leaves a legacy of being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all. She enjoyed and was faithful in attending events for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Thomas and a brother, Kevin Trainor.

Mrs. Thomas is survived by her husband of sixty-three years, Robert Allen Thomas of Milan; daughter, Carol Ann Mitchell of Maryville; two sons, Paul Thomas and wife April of Milan and Craig Thomas of Merida, Mexico; four sisters, Joan Olson of Florida, Noreen Santos of Rhode Island, Sharon Adriance and Gail Hollow, both of Florida. Other survivors include eight grandchildren, Chelsa Ange, Chandra Spilker, Caitlin Clendenen, Rachel Mitchell, Drew Mitchell, Dylan Thomas, Emma Grace Thomas and Macy Thomas as well as five great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Ashlyn, Robbie, Asher and Wallace. 

The family of Mrs. Thomas is honoring her wishes of no formal services. She will be laid to rest next to her daughter, Karen.
