Glenda Duke

Mrs. Glenda Kay Mayhall Duke, age 79 of Bells, formerly of Lexington, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2022, in Jackson Madison County General  Hospital surrounded by her family.

She was born July 29, 1943, in Kenton, TN to the late Martin Thomas Mayhall and Evelyn Izetta Harris Mayhall. Mrs. Duke graduated from Union University with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Over the years she worked in various positions in nursing such as clinics, hospitals, nursing homes and for the State of Tennessee. Until her health started failing her, she worked part time at Medina Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Mrs. Duke was a member of Bells First Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Noble Ray Duke as well as by a brother, Marty Mayhall.

Survivors includes four children, Jerry Glenn Burton of Greenfield, TN,  Mitsy Kay Burton of Union City, TN, Scott Barnett and wife Holly of Trenton, TN and Kimberly Barnett Brewer and husband DJ of Bells, TN; one sister, Diane Sisco and husband Marty of Union City, TN; one brother Keith Mayhall and wife Laura of Greenfield, TN. Other survivors include five grandchildren, Will Burton of Greenfield, TN, Dylan Kip Morris of Franklin, TN, Hayden Barnett and Cole Barnett both of Trenton, TN and Peyton Brewer of Bells, TN.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Duke will be conducted Sunday, October 16, 2022, in the Sanctuary of Corinth Baptist Church in Darden, TN with Bro. Mark Wade and Bro. James Keeton officiating. Burial will follow in the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
