Jim Ward, age 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by his devoted wife and sons on May 25, 2021 at his home in Milan, Tennessee.
He was born in Humboldt, Tennessee on October 14, 1941 and attended School of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Missouri for high school and junior college. He later attended Southwest Missouri State and returned home in 1962. He married the love of his life on February 16, 1963. Mr. Ward began his career at ITT in Milan and worked and eventually owned Hugh Ward Construction where he retired. He was an avid golfer and longtime member of the Milan Golf & Country Club. He also loved fishing and watching his children and grandchildren play and coach sports. He was the Milan Quarter Back Club president in 1986. Mr. Ward was a member of First United Methodist Church Milan.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Driver; father, Ernest K. Ward; sisters, Jane Thomas and Marsha Ann Driver; and beloved Uncle Hugh Ward.
Mr. Ward is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Patsy Mullins Ward of Milan, Tennessee; two sons, Keith Ward (Julie) of Milan, Tennessee and Kevin Ward (Kim) of Bells, Tennessee; sister, Kay Stegall (Bob); grandchildren, Brennen Ward (Brittany), Alex Cox (Wesley),Kelli Marie Ward, Bethanne Ward, Brooke Ward, Abbie Ward, Sullivan Burke and Cary Allen Burke, and six great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, May 30, 2021 in the chapel of Medina Funeral Home with Bob Stegall officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. until the service hour.
