Janice “Jan” Marie Zagst

Jan Zagst, age 69, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at her home in Milan.

She was born on September 19, 1954, in Huntingdon to Stella Price Keller and the late Roy Scott.

In addition to her father, Jan was preceded in death by her brother, Danny Scott and grandson, Jacob Riley.

She is survived by her husband, Tim Zagst of Milan; mother, Stella Keller of West Frankfort, Illinois; son, Michael Merritt and wife Rioko of Japan; and three daughters, Teresa Holiday and husband Danny of Henderson, Nikki Knight and husband Wayne of North Carolina, and Christy Haefner of North Carolina.

Other survivors include three brothers, JC Keller of West Frankfort, Illinois, Jack Scott and wife Jodi of Huntley, Illinois and Jerry Scott of Jackson; three sisters, Tammy Henson of West Frankfort, Illinois, Kathy Ray and husband Wesley of Fairfield, Illinois and Lisa House and husband Aubrey of Carmi, Illinois; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Oakfield Baptist Church. The time of the service will be announced when it becomes available.
