Jerry Wayne "Gerald" Dotson
Mr. Gerald Dotson, age 71, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021 in Jackson, Tennessee.
He was born April 16, 1949 in Chickasaw County, Mississippi to the late Elvis and Nora Dotson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers; three sisters; wife, Marilyn; and two precious daughters, Kimberly "Kimbo" Dotson and Kimberly Robinson.
As a child, he spent a lot of time learning the value of hard work, by picking cotton with his father and brothers in their family fields. As an adult, Gerald developed a love of traveling and painting, which lead him to become an independent contract painter, with his friend Tony Grove for over thirty years. When he wasn't working, he love to spend time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren and his friends. Gerald loved listening to country music, hunting, fishing and just having an all around "good time".
Survivors includes son, Billy Dotson of Chicago, Illinois; two grandsons, Christopher Ryan Bennett and Spencer Wayne Robinson, both of Reagan, Tennessee; one granddaughter, Hannah Joy Rikard of Scotts Hill, Tennessee; nine great grandchildren, Daxon Layne Bennett, Remi Sue Wolverton, Emma Wolverton, Tegan Wolverton, Eli Wayne Robinson, Carley Rea Bailey, Caiden Lane Bailey, Lucas Ryan Bailey and Kylie Ann Willis; one honorary Godson, Kevin Brent Willis; one honorary grandson, Joshua Brent Willis; one cousin Dorothy Cheney (George) of Houlka, Mississippi; one niece, Shawna Rowland of Arkansas and one nephew, David Rowland of Memphis, Tennessee.
Other survivors include his best friends, Scott Starkey, Johnny Chatham, Charles Chatham, Stephanie Durbin, Tammy Vaughn, Pamela Rikard, Mark Buczynski, Monica Lambert (Terry Jackson), Patty Williams, Scott Crossno, Roger Parrot, Joyce Moore, Jason Northcutt, Matthew Austin (Sarah), Teresa Stewart, which all will miss him very much.
A Memorial service for Mr. Dotson will be conducted on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at Reagan Community Center
