John Abela

John Mario Abela, 83 years young of Trezevant, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2022 surrounded by family.

He was born in Malta, Europe immigrated to the USA and served in the United States Army. He retired after 32 years of faithful service to General Motors. John loved hunting, fishing and sports throughout his life. He never met a stranger and generously shared laughs with so many.

He was preceded by his parents Joseph and Mary, siblings Maria, Marie Grace and Joseph Jr.

He is survived by his long time partner and love Joan Churchwell, siblings Anthony (Maureen), Rose (Len) and Walt (Darlene), loving children Richard (Debbie) Abela and Sandra (Gregory) Haywood, 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
