Johnny "John" R. Englert

Johnny "John" Englert, age 84, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Humboldt, Tennessee.

He was born on August 3, 1940, in Jackson, Tennessee to the late Byron L. Englert and Mary M. Englert. Mr. John proudly served in the United States Navy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Englert.

Mr. John is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Lynda Holland Englert of Jackson, Tennessee; two sons, John Robert Englert and wife Dawn of Jackson, Tennessee and Jeff Blanton and wife Anna of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; three daughters, Carol Downey and husband Jeff of Murray, Kentucky, Melissa Blanton Miller of Winsett, North Carolina and Valerie Englert Barker and husband Brett of Knoxville, Tennessee; eleven grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 26, 2024, in the chapel of Englewood Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Miller officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour at the church.
