Ronald R. Uher
Ron Uher was born May 17, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois to the late James Uher and Libbie Kastner Uher.
Ron was a proud member of the United States Army and received an Honorable Discharge. He served in Germany and then was stationed at Fort Hood, Elvis was in the barracks next door. Ron received a written commendation from his commanding officer for his loyalty and devotion to duty that Ron set an example for all the men in his unit. These two qualities he would possess throughout his life.
Following the Army, Ron joined the Cicero, Illinios Police Department, where he received many written commendations for Outstanding Police Work. In addition, he successfully completed many courses, such as: Hostage Negotiations; Middle Management courses; Crowd Control in Civil Disturbance; Spanish courses; and Police Administration courses. All of these actions lead to him being appointed Deputy Superintendant. His fellow officers and he remained in close contact throughout their lives.
The most important love and joy of his life was his five children whom he totally loved and always tried to be actively involved in their lives which meant attending any events in which they participated. Later, this love extended his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ron Uher, age 85, departed this life on October 8, 2020 in Jackson, Tennessee. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Diane Uher; his sons Mitch Uher (Karen), Michael Uher (Linda), Ronnie Uher (Tracy), and Bob Uher (Jen); a daughter Deborah Chapin (Bill); grandchildren Lindsay Darr (Josiah), Tiffany Herrman (Jason), Kimberly Angus, Joe Uher (Tatie), Misty Rose Uher, Amber Uher, Peyton Uher, Heather Laurie, Brad Uher, Rachel Uher; and great grandchildren Ryder Uher, Skye Uher and Jude Uher. His sister in law, Jean Uher and his nephew, Jimmer, always held a special place in his heart.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his only sibling, his older brother, Jim Uher whom he greatly loved.
The Uher family will have a private memorial service.
