Samuel (Sam) Russell Stewart passed away from a long illness on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at his home
in Humboldt, Tennessee. He was born in George County, Mississippi to Gordon Russell Stewart and
Gracie Virginia Shepherd Stewart. He relocated to Humboldt, TN in 2013.
Mr. Stewart attended George County High School and served in the Mississippi Army National Guard for
six years. He retired after 33 years from Chevron Corporation in 2006 working at the Pascagoula
Refinery and also off-shore in the petroleum division. He started Stewart Trucking LLC following
retirement from Chevron and until 2014.
Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife, Lee Anne Mashburn Stewart. He also leaves three children, Rusty
Stewart (Traci), Selina Martinez (Tony) and Chris Stewart (Wendy), eight grandchildren and four great
grandchildren with another due in August.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and four half-sisters. He leaves a brother, Dwain
Stewart (Sue), sisters, Jane McKinnis (Richard), Sharon Quinn (Adam) and Grace Johnston (Darryl). He is
also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as his beloved companions, Bear and Charlie.

Medina Funeral Home in Medina, Tennessee was in charge of the arrangements and a memorial service
will be held at 2 P.M. on May 18, 2024 in Magnolia Cemetery in Lucedale, Mississippi. 
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bethel Baptist Church in Jackson, Tennessee or St. Jude’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
