Stanley Ray Carter age 68 of Jackson, passed away peacefully in his home on November 12, 2023.
He was born May 22, 1955, to the late Gould Carter and Jean Spells Carter. Mr. Carter was a retired packaging designer. Stan was a kind and caring person who loved to be outdoors hunting and fishing when he wasn't watching the Vols play.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Carter.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Carter of Jackson; daughter, Chris Carter of Georgia; two siblings Dianne Winberry and husband Kenny of Cedar Grove and Randy Carter and wife Pam of Jackson; step-son, James Deady and wife Meredith of Paris, France; step-daughter, Candy Tauzier and husband Scott of Texas; four step-grandchildren Jessica Godwin and husband Ryan, Brandon Weaver and wife Alina, Meghan Tauzier and Ari Deady; two step-great grandchildren, Ripley Weaver and Marley Weaver. Other survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Per his wishes, no service will be held. Because of his love of the outdoors, in lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be directed to the Tennessee River Gorge Trust in memory of Mr. Carter.
