Mr. Walter Scott, Jr., age 90, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024, in Milan, Tennessee.
He was born on April 14, 1934 in Greenville, North Carolina to the late Walter Glenn Scott, Sr. and Florence Overton Scott. Walter proudly retired from the United States Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Joann Timberlake Scott; son, John William Scott; and grandson, John Timberlake Scott.
Walter is survived by his daughter, Pam Dietz and husband Dr. Bernie of Humboldt; brother, Dr. Harry Scott and his wife Margaret of Hilton Head, South Carolina; sister, Florence McGlowhon of Texas; and daughter-in-law, Judy Scott of Crestview, Florida.
Other survivors include five grandchildren, Nicole Petersen and husband Eric, Kelsey Phillips and husband Ryan, Eric Dietz and wife Carol Ann, Bethany Brandt and husband Josiah, Sharlee Scott, Keisha Cadenhead and Crystal Barnes and several great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at First United Methodist Church in Humboldt with Rev. Ronnie Peck officiating.
