Albert “Dewayne” King, 56 of Toone, TN passed away Monday June 6, 2022. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 11:00 am at Maple Springs Baptist Church in Mercer,TN with interment to follow in Vernon Cemetery.
Mr. King was born on March 6, 1966 in Jackson, TN to the late Albert Lee and Joyce Ann Bennett King. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from Union University in education and owned/operated Medistat respiratory equipment supply for years. One of Dewayne’s greatest joys in life was being a funeral director's assistant and apprentice. For years he worked tirelessly trying to do for others and help people during the most difficult times in their life. He graduated from John A. Gupton College of Mortuary Science in 2020 while undergoing chemotherapy and worked until his health wouldn’t permit. Dewayne was a faithful member of Maple Springs Baptist Church and will be missed by his family and friends.
Other than his parents, Dewayne was also preceded in death by his sister Teresa Crumby.
He is survived by his sisters; Bonnie Alvarez and husband Julio of Bolivar, TN, Barbara Smith and husband Richie of Toone, brother in law; Joey Crumby of Savannah,TN and nieces and nephews; Bethany Crumby, Brittany(Jason) Higgs, Ashley DiAnn Elam, Will and Maddy Prine, Jay, Abby, Kyle and Riley Smith as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at Maple Springs Baptist Church on Thursday, June 9, 2022 from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm and will resume on Friday from 9:00 am until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in honor of Dewayne.
