She was born on April 10, 1974 in Humboldt, Tennessee to James William Whittemore and the late Shelby Jean Brewer Whittemore.
Melanie is survived by her husband, William David Hardwick of Friendship, Tennessee; two daughters, Wendy Nicole Brown of Friendship, Tennessee and Ashley Lynn Hardwick; sister, Marty Kitty of Jackson, Tennessee; and three grandchildren, Karma Brown, Kameron Dwayne Bond and Isabella Faulkner.
