Minnie Fuchs

July 31, 1941 — February 16, 2021

Minnie Lee (Mitchell) Carter Fuchs

Minnie Lee (Mitchell) Carter Fuchs passed away peacefully on February 16, 2021.  She was 79 years of age.  She died of complications of COPD after emergency surgery.  She was born in Birmingham, Alabama on July 31, 1941.  She was the youngest daughter of 6 siblings and is survived by her sister Anne Fawcett of Fountain Valley, Ca. And her brother George Mitchell of Huntley, Il.  Her mother was Martha DulCinnie (Bruner) Mitchell and her father was George Napolean Mitchell.  She was the widow of Jerry Fuchs.

Minnie married Thomas Edgar Carter (deceased) in 1958 and they had three children. They were: Sharon Lee (Carter) Lantz (Bob, now deceased) of Pataskala, Oh., Karen Elizabeth (Carter) Lamprecht (Mike) and Thomas Harvey Carter (deceased). She was the very proud grandmother of Joshua Lantz (Jenny), Kevin Lantz (Amanda) and Rebecca (Lantz) Hendershot (Jesse), and Alexandria Hardee.  She was the super proud great grandmother of 9 and too many nieces and nephews to count.  She was a loving gramma who adored her family.  She had moved to Ohio from Milan, Tn., to live with her daughter Sharon and to be near her grand and great grand kids.

Minnie was a Christian and she loved her Lord.  She was a long-time member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Milan, Tn., and was known for her kindness, love for others, and the fantastic baked goods she would bring to the church get-togethers.  She had an infectious sense of humor and enjoyed life; those who knew her loved her.

Minnie had one big regret in life; early on, she had been a smoker.  Smoking led to the development of COPD.  As the COPD progressed and hindered her, she never complained but often told family to never smoke unless you want to live with some hard consequences. (I suspect we would all be wise to listen to her). She loved football, Nascar, and people.  She was a die-hard Alabama football fan, but conceded to rooting for the OSU Buckeyes as long as they weren’t playing Alabama.

Minnie had a full life as a mother, business owner (Carter’s Restaurant), and worker in banking, retail and manufacturing.
