Mr. Noble Ray Duke age 81 of Lexington, passed away Friday, June 26, 2020 in St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville.

He was born January 3, 1939 in Henderson County to the late Ernie Chester Duke and Ruby Wood Duke. Mr. Duke was a valiant servant and man of honor proudly serving in the Tennessee Army National Guard for thirty-two years achieving the rank of Sergeant First Class. During his military career, he made many bonds and life-long friends which he held dear to his heart. He worked for many years as a car salesman and later retired as a driver from AmPharm after twenty years of faithful service. Mr. Duke was a fifty year member of Cheap Valley Masonic Lodge. He was initiated an entered apprentice, January 1, 1966 passed to the degree of fellow craft, July 16, 1966 and raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason, January 14, 1967. Mr. Duke served multiple terms as an Alderman for the city of Lexington.

He was known as a kind and gentle person and would always do what he could to help anyone at any time. Mr. Duke loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He also loved to play cards, especially rook with his friends at Jerry McKee’s Grocery and the Henderson County Senior Citizens Center and over the years was awarded many trophies for the tournaments he won.  He also loved animals and will be missed by his baby dogs, Tiney and Spankey as well as his grandbaby dogs, Smokey, Milo and Rocky.  Mr. Duke was a devout Christian, loved the Lord and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-three years, Glenda Kay Mayhall Duke; two daughters, Angela Arnold and husband Kenny and Dana Hinson and husband Greg; two stepdaughters, Kim Barnett Brewer and husband DJ and Mitsy Burton; two stepsons, Jerry Glenn Burton and Scott Barnett and wife Holly; sister, Ernestine Reedes and a brother, Hugh Duke. Other survivors include nine grandchildren, Will Burton, Hayden Barnett, Dylan Morris, Cole Barnett, Peyton Brewer, Dustin Arnold (Maria), Caitlyn Pitts, Colton Hinson and Cassidy Hinson as well as four great grandchildren, Daniel Williams, Maggie Arnold, Willow Pitts and Olivia Arnold.

Serving as pallbearers are Dustin Arnold, Will Burton, Dylan Morris, Hayden Barnett, Colton Hinson, Cole Barnett and Peyton Brewer.

Funeral services for Mr. Duke will be conducted Monday, June 29, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary of Corinth Baptist Church in Darden with Bro. Don Franks, Bro. Ronnie Hays and Dr. Hoyt Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Corinth Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
