Ruby Pauline Tharp

Humboldt, Tennessee 

Mrs. Ruby Tharp, age 98, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2022 the Cades Center in Humboldt, Tennessee. 
 

She was born on September 24, 1923 in Gibson County to the late Jesse Helton and Stella Marsh Helton. Ruby attended the First Assembly of God in Humboldt. She began working at Wayne Knitting Mills and was a former part owner of Save-A-Lot grocery store. Ruby later worked at Estes Grocery where customers would wait in line for her to check them out. 
 

In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her son, O’Neil King; two sisters, Mae Branch and Etta Whitmore; and grandson, Monte McCoy. 
 

She is survived by her daughter, Ann McCoy Smith of Humboldt, Tennessee; grandson, Brad McCoy and his wife Tonya of Humboldt, Tennessee; two great grandchildren, Seth Buchanan and Keely Buchanan; two great great grandchildren, Lincoln and Scarlett; and several nieces and nephews. 
 

A memorial gathering will be held from 11:00 A. M. until 1:00 P.M with a time of reflection at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 11, 2022 in the chapel of Medina Funeral Home.
