William Lynn Wagster, 64 years old of Parsons, TN and formerly of Jackson, TN, passed away on Sunday, December 6 at his home after a brief illness.

Lynn was born in Louisville, Kentucky on July 26, 1956; son of the late William Henry Wagster and the late Lu Meadows Wagster. He graduated from Jackson Central Merry High School in 1974. Lynn started off his career in restaurant management in Lake Charles, LA and Laurel, Mississippi before moving back to Jackson, TN, where he was the General Manager of Reliable Contract and Packaging for several years. He worked for Scooters Unlimited in Jackson, TN before retiring and was currently living in Parsons, TN to be near his beloved Tennessee River.

Lynn had an amazing sense of humor. He was able to make even the most serious situation hilarious. He loved to laugh, and it was one of the many reasons people were drawn to him. Lynn was generous and would give you the shirt off his back or his last penny. He was very loyal to those he loved.

He loved to play golf.  He and his father spent several summers at the golf course, with his father begging him to cut his long hair each time before they played.

Lynn’s passion was the guitar. He was a phenomenal guitar player and taught himself how to play in high school. He was in several small bands through the years.  One of his favorite bands he was in was Hard Heart, and they played mostly in the West Tennessee area and once opened for Molly Hatchett, when they played a concert in Jackson, TN.

Most importantly, Lynn was very spiritual, and he loved God. His favorite scriptures were Philippians 4:13 and Isaiah 40:31.

Lynn is survived by his daughter Jessica Wagster Cooper and her fiancé Josh Townsend of Jackson, TN; grandson Jack Taylor of Jackson, TN; best friend Julie Latimore Payne of Jackson, TN; stepmother Carol Wagster of Jackson, TN; sister Andrea Pyles and husband Chris of Gallatin, TN; step sister Gena Eads and husband Matt of Denver, CO; sister Katy Culmo and husband Matt of Austin, TX; and his very special friend Cody LaComb of Parsons, TN.  Lynn also leaves several cousins he was especially close to: Mike Oney, Jane Brackett, Chris McCrary, Lee Meadows, and a host of wonderful friends who loved him.

Due to COVID -19, a special service will be in the summer of 2021 where his ashes will be spread at the Tennessee River, as he requested.
